Land Use Change Survey

Your views on land use change in the Green Triangle and Central Victoria

This form asks you to tell us your views about the land use changes occurring in the study region. We will use this information submitted using this form to help us

  • identify and prioritise (a) which types of land use change and (b) which types of social and economic impacts need to be examined as part of the study
  • better understand the types of impacts different land use changes may have in different parts of the study region, to help us further shape and target our research as it progresses.

Please answer the questions below. When you are finished, click the 'Send' button at the bottom of this page. If you have problems submitting, you can post your responses to the questions to:

Map of study region

The region being examined in the study is shown below. The first questions asks you to identify which parts of the study region you want to comment on (in other words, which parts of the region you know well enough to give us your views on). The rest of the questions ask you to identify the land use changes occurring in the region, and the types of socio-economic impacts they are having.

Q1. Which part of the study region do you wish to comment on?

In the box below, please describe in your own words which parts of the region you are familiar with.

Q2. What types of land use change have occurred over the last 6-10 years in the area you identified in Q1, and what types of impact have they had?

In the box below, list as many or as few land use changes as you wish - you may wish to focus on one or two land use changes, or to list a wide range of changes. We ask that you describe the impacts of each type of land use change in as much detail as possible, as it helps us better understand the issues our research should focus on.

What is 'land use change'?

A land use change is any shift in how land is used. This may for example include a shift from producing one type of crop or commodity to producing a different crop of commodity; shifting from commercial to non-commercial uses; a shift in who uses the land (e.g. the ownership or management); or a change in the way a particular crop or commodity is produced e.g. resulting from changes in technology. We are interested in any type of land use change, whether it affects only a small area of land, or a large area, and no matter what the type of land use is.

Q3. Of the land use changes you listed in Q2, which have had the greatest impact on the region (positive and/or negative)?

In the box below, please list in order of importance which land use changes are having the greatest impacts. You can list up to five land use changes that are having a large impact. Note that you do not have to list five land use changes - you may decide to list only one or two and leave the rest of the list blank.
